craftiness.....

I love it when a vision in my noggin FINALLY makes an appearance in the real world! I've been wanting to make a chore chart for the girls for a while now and I LOVE how they turned out! The frames were from a yard sale, the sheet metal are shingles from Home Depot, the magnets are clip art printed on cardstock, attached to clear flat marble thing-a-ma-jigs, that are glued to magnets! There will be a line down the middle and TO DO and DONE on the top, as soon as i go get my cricut out! I've also got a few pics of the fun hair do-dads im makin for favors at Kennedy's 4th birthday....Four. Really?! Already?!?! How did that happen?!

As i was putting away our Christmas decorations (that actually never made it out to the shed and are now crammed in my bedroom...) I wanted to take pictures of some of our homemade and special decorations....

A special Angel made for me by a close friend in the 7th grade!

Jeff's nutcracker collection, it all started with the guy in the tan top!

Our new tradition of the girls making us decorations at Color Me Mine! These were last years, guess which one is Kennedy's....

My Angel. Our first Christmas together we were very broke, and i found the pattern for this angel in an old craft book. We've used her ever since!

2011...the year of ME

Oh how i long to be one of those beautiful blogger women who seem to have it all together and the time to blog! How do they do it? I want to work on some projects, i have a long list. I figured that if i post it here, i will feel more accomplished when i do them?! Who knows! After having a stiff and extremely sore neck all day, i spent a lot of time on the computer surfing some awesome blogs. I want mine to be awesome too. I want to inspire people and give them tools to create just as these women have helped me. So here's to 2011 being the year of me....and figuring out just who that is!

10 months is too long

for a new daddy to be away from his son, and a hubby to be away from his wife...but at last they made it! I am so glad that my cousin Kelly has made it home for his 15 days of leave, the long part of his Iraqi journey is over!
Em was being shy, so instead of saying hi, she took out her gum! Kelly apparently speaks this language, he popped his out too!

Our day did not end on a sour note...

How I spent Labor day weekend...

My vacation began Wednesday....then came to an abrubt halt Thursday afternoon when Ken threw up all over the place and was running a fever. SO down the hill we went, leaving Em and her daddy to enjoy a few days to themselves. After a few days of rest, Ken was back to her goofy self again so we headed back up Saturday afternoon. And vacation went on as planned!Even Amos got to go camping for the first time!

Beer, Horseshoes, and a big rock that snuck up behind me when i wasn't looking....

That's right, we watched movies around the campfire one night!

Thanks to Melanie for bringing some princess goodies for all the girls to decorate!
Carli, Kennedy, Alexiya, Emma and Breena

Perfect S'more!!

Perfect pants for S'more makin! :P

Em's play doh bird! Isn't he the cutest!!

New Do's

February was an all around S*it*y month! With my grandpa and my aunt passing away the same week, and having a miscarriage the week after! I was more than ready for it to be over! March has begun and so far so good:) I am feeling better as the days go by, but still have my moments. But tonight i decided to go out on a limb and give the girls their first haircut, at home! I was bit nervous, and hesitant. I kind of wanted them to go to a fun kids salon and have it cut by a professional. But then i realized i was talking about MY kids and that sounded great, but would probably end up disastrous!!! So, my baby girl no longer has a mullet! What a GREAT way to start this month :)

Ta Da!! :) She looks really cute! (If i do say so myself!) Emma just got a trim, it looks cute too, but not too much of a difference.

The end :)

My husband has a new love....

.......a 1930 Ford Pickup
He hasn't decided if it's a boy or a girl yet, (and he's even seen it's undercarriage!) So it remains nameless, for now. I have lots of new projects going, but shrinking their pictures to put on here apparently isn't one of them. I am now off to take Ken to the dr. oh boy. Then Jeff gets to take Em to the movies with his parents. ( I opted to stay home with the sicky! you know, put her to bed early, (because she IS sick) and then do something fun....like laundry...nah, that can wait i want to scrap!!!) Have a happy new year and hopefully i will stick to my resolution and keep up on my blog!

CraSh BaNg BoOm!!!!!

My computer did all of that! It was a very stressful time, and we're still not totally in the clear, BUT we did get a new computer yesterday, and HP Pavilion Notebook :) And i am glad to be back among the blogging world! I can't post any of my pictures yet, because i don't have any!! My external hard drive is still at the Geek Squad in Best Buy hoping to come home next week with some of the important stuff off my old computer...we'll see! Other than that it's been a boring and stressed week and i am looking forward to a fun week and then THE BEACK :) :) :) The Pumkin patch on wednesday and then my parents (and Jeffs) are taking miss Em to Pismo with them, they are leaving on Friday and we can't go until Wednesday....that is 6 days with no Emma Sue......I've never done that before.....Kennedy will get us all to herself for the time and i am glad for that....but 6 WHOLE days with no Em.... Did i mention i was going to the beach....

Wow, i really rambled, didn't I! The joys of a brand new keyboard...you just want to keep typing :)

OK, here's where i was going to add a picture of the new laptop, but i couldn't find one!!! I guess it's too new, it just came out last sunday. Hmm, i'll have to figure out how to use the webcam and give you a picture of me.....ok, maybe not!!!!

Edward, how i love thee!!!!!!

Holy crap! That's pretty much all I've got to say! Dawn got me started on this series and i less than two weeks, i had all four of them read!! I can't get the story out of my head! I picked up the last book yesterday when i dropped off Em at preschool and i didn't start it until nap time around 1:00 and i didn't put it down until i finished it at 1:00AM!!!! Luckily JT was working overtime and got fed dinner at work because the girls got Mac n cheese (whole grain does make me feel a little better about it!!! :)) And they went to bed kinda rushed thru the process!!! Now i have to prepare for the movie to come out in November!! I feel like a little girl with a HORRIBLE crush on a fictional hero (who's really a vampire!) EYE YIE YIE!

On another note, i did finally finish some baby shower invites last week and got them in the mail. Jeff's aunt had asked me to make them for her daughter in law for their third baby and it was for a baby shower thru the mail because they had just moved to Washington. It was a little hard to get started, i wasn't sure what in the world to put on them, but i made up a poem and focused on the baby and i hope they come across ok, and not too tacky!!! I also added a tag page to each one in hopes that they will write down a "note of welcome" to baby Clara and when she gets them all, her mom will only have to put a brad through the top and she'll have a little book for Clara from her family. We'll have to see if everyone participates!!
I used Imaginisce Baby Powder Line, with some matching card stock, and some spare ribbon i had.

Dawn and i also took over part of a preschool project and i finished those up last weekend also,

So there it is, a late blog because i am still getting the hang of all this! :) The girls were also sick this last week, sore throats and all! Jeff and I spent the weekend finishing our deck with a redwood stain and weatherproofing it :) (Only a year after it was finished!!!) And now we begin the process to get ready for PISMO!!! Which of course looks like I'll be doing without him as he starts working 7 days a week! Oh well, somebodies gotta pay for our vacation!! :) It will be nice to get out there and for the first time, he'll get paid for being on vacation! Nice! Well, I'm off to clean the house so i can play with all the new Halloween goodies i got at Pocket last week! :)

From wooden signs to castles to twice baked taters!!

Last night i went to mom and dad's and cut out the goods to make this:

(Don't ask! It's a sign for a friend of ours!)

Anywho... when we got home, my left eye was pretty bloodshot, hmmmmm
This morning, it was still red and kind of teary so i decided we'd better stay home from preschool, i am making lots of new friends (as is Em) and we didn't want them all extremely mad at us for sharing pink eye! (If thats what it turned out to be!! but it wasn't, i am fine!) So we built this:

That's right, a pretty princess castle! WITH A WORKING DRAWBRIDGE!!! (I quite enjoyed myself for this invention of the day! :)) and it has custom decorations!
It was fun,

for a little while, then we had to move on

to water coloring, ALL of the 18 "My Little Pony" coloring pages we printed off the computer!
Next it was time for dinner, and a movie! Actually it was more like, because of the movie, we had dinner!!
I called Joni, she told me to do the following and then blog about it. Joni says "jump" i say " how high?" :P
First we throw potatoes in the microwave... then cut them in half
Then scoop 'em out
Then mash their guts up with....what ever you have in the fridge, and fill 'em back up! add some cheese and bake.
Then cover them with some of your homemade salsa (because you have tomatoes COMING OUT YOUR EARS!!! and because your daddy wanted some! :))
and enjoy!
(Please excuse Jeff for this lovely "what in the hell are you taking a picture of me for" look, he is still not use to the blogging life yet! :) But really, Joni, they were great! Thanks! :)

And now i get to run off to this
Our brand new California King Simmons Beauty rest mattress :) Which will soon be apart of this
(except the armoire) which we bought last weekend, which is where the box came from (the nightstand) which brings us back full circle! A busy day of entertaining two crazy kids, tomorrow, the same thing, but hopefully with a lot less mess!!!
